Step Warmfloor™ Applications

Ostensibly there are three different types of underfloor heating: 1.0) water (hydronic), 2.0) electric (cable/ribbon) and 3.0) STEP Warmfloor™ Electro Plastic Polymer.

STEP Warmfloor™ is unique. It is a 24V electroplastic polymer. The whole surface area of our product heats therefore needs to reach a lower temperature than other products to achieve the British & European standard temperature for floors of 28ºC. The small surface areas of both hydronic and cable/ribbon must reach much higher temperatures to dissipate the heat sideways and upwards. These products are covered by a screed whereas STEP Warmfloor™ is positioned directly under the finished flooring.

STEP Warmfloor™ operates at an average of 50W/m² unlike other products that can use up to 300W/m². STEP Warmfloor™ therefore has between 30% and 60% lower running costs than any other product it has been compared with.

As STEP Warmfloor™ is 24V it is very safe and can go under ANY floor types. STEP Warmfloor™ self-regulates meaning it can NEVER overheat. It is extremely energy efficient as it only uses the electricity required to maintain the desired temperature. STEP Warmfloor™ will also comply with the changes to Part L of the Building Regulations April 2006.
